Our first AGM……….
……..since Independence, two years ago, was held on February 6th in collaboration with the Local Authority and RIX Media .
Thank you to our lovely members who supported the AGM and Wiki event with a huge welcome to those who joined us for the first time.
…….was a reflection of the PIP journey over the last 12 months, highlighting how we work passionately and with great commitment together as a team to help our families in North Lincolnshire.
Since independence we have become a more proactive, organized forum that has strengthened both our engagement with the Local Authority and Parent/Carers.
We love meeting and chatting with you all at our weekly drop in coffee mornings around North Lincolnshire. It is always a buzz of sharing and caring, something we will continue to do.
As a Steering Group we shared our participation, the work we do with the Local Authority, Parents Buzz Off (Short Breaks), SENDIASS & Hub Steering groups, as well as a co produced Annual Conference to mention but a few of the commitments we take on.
Fiona Beard our Co-Chair and Yorkshire & Humber representative for Parent Forums spoke about the 152 Parent Carer Forums in England that we are part of and how although they are all different, they all share a united picture of making an impact in helping families with children and young adults who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We were delighted to give all who attended a free goodie bag and raffle ticket. This allowed two lucky parent/ carers to win a £25 gift voucher for the VUE cinema.
After all this excitement and before a lovely lunch, Mike Barker who is the Lead Teacher for SEND from the Local Authority commended the PIP by praising the important role we play within North Lincolnshire.
Mike went on to introduce Sam Goncalves and Craig Wilkie, who took over the days event to deliver Wiki, a tool to share your child’s voice, skills, aspirations and needs. Sam shared her experience of using the Wiki and the benefits it brought her son and the whole family. Follow the link to view it for yourself.
We were pleased with how our first AGM went and thank all that made the time to attend and for those that were unable to make it we hope you can learn more about The Steering Group, North Lincs PIP forum and the Wiki Event by reading and viewing all the attached information.
