What does Healthwatch do?

Our purpose:
To give patients and the public a powerful voice, ensuring that their views and experiences are heard by those who plan and deliver health and social care services, giving people a real say over how their local health and social care service are run.

  1. There are three distinct threads to the service:
    Provide information and “signposting” to the public about local health and social care services
  2. Advocacy – support to make complaints about the NHS
  3. Involve local people in the provision, monitoring and commissioning and of local services by:
    Obtaining people’s views and experiences (by research, surveys, Enter and View visits etc…)
    Make these views and any recommendations known to those involved in commissioning, provision and scrutiny of services and to Healthwatch England

Healthwatch Local Resolution

The NHS Complaints Advocacy Service is a free and independent service that can help you make a complaint about a National Health Service (NHS).
